☆ I play Izaya as pansexual (human sexual?) based on him saying several times in canon that he considers every human in the world to be his friend, lover and family, along with intimations from Narita in a twitter interview. To me, it makes no sense for him to make preferences based on gender when he claims to love all humans equally.

☆ I play him as relatively disinterested in sex, preferring other - more deviant - pursuits in general, but based on the aforementioned interview with Narita where he suggested Izaya is sexually 'normal', I interpret this to mean he enjoys sex well enough when he decides to engage in it. He's more likely to be interested if the situation is novel/interesting/he thinks he can gain something from it.

☆ I play him as a switch, so he'll top or bottom as the situation demands (though I lean more towards having him bottom, with both men and women, but will certainly play him topping to suit the situation/character/aims of the encounter etc). Even when bottoming he prefers to maintain some level of control, whether through topping from the bottom, being a bitchy bottom, or simply through subtleties such as having given consent (which will allow him to feel he still has autonomy in the situation). However, I'm more than happy for control to be taken from him on occasion, with prior planning and my consent.

☆ I don't play out romanticised relationships with him. For the most part he doesn't view people as individuals and his expression of 'love' is atypical, therefore I don't see him getting involved in an entirely monogamous relationship or developing romantic attachments. He's more likely to have multiple partners, and if he does develop preferences for certain partners it won't be based on conventional standards of love or romance.

☆ Outside of sex games/memes/PSLs it's highly unlikely that I'll ever play out sex with Izaya. I'd need an exceptionally good IC reason for this to happen and to be honest I think he'd be too concerned with his pursuits in ~~human observation~~ to be interested in sex.
